Philipp Hochmann

Hi, I'm Philipp. I cook and write software.

In my spare time I'm building a cooking app for households, with a tofu cube as its mascot.

Tofi, a cute tofu cube holding a green heart

TofuLove

Cook together, every day.

TofuLove is a cooking app I'm building in my spare time. Recipes, the week plan and the shopping list live in one place, and everyone in your household sees the same thing. Tofi, the tofu cube, is the chat assistant. Ask it what to cook tonight.

There's a web app and native apps for iPhone and Android. I'm getting ready for a first beta, so if you want to try it, tell me.

Ask for beta access tofulove.net

One cookbook

Recipes, building blocks and folders, with photos, tags and favorites.

Cooking, step by step

Start a timer right from the recipe step. It rings like a real alarm, even when the phone is locked.

Dishes from blocks

Save a sauce, a grain, a protein. Put blocks together and you have a dish.

The whole week

Drag dishes onto days. Everyone in the household sees the plan.

A list that sorts itself

Sorted by aisle, with more than 250 little icons. It's the same list for everyone at home.

Ask Tofi

Ask what to cook and Tofi looks for recipes, plans the week or sorts your list.

New ideas every day

See what other people cook, and post your own clips.

Under the hood it's a Next.js web app, a SwiftUI app for iPhone and a Jetpack Compose app for Android, all talking to one realtime backend.

About

I'm a software engineer from Vienna. I've been programming since 2013 and have worked on backends, cloud infrastructure and AI features.

TofuLove is my side project next to my day job. I build it in the evenings and on weekends. Away from the keyboard I cook a lot, play badminton and cycle.

Say hi
